Status of Revision of ISO Method 6579 on Salmonella

 Revision of method started under ISO ISO/TC 34/SC 9  EC mandated CENTC 275, Food Analysis,WG 6, Microbial Contaminant to provide validation data for Annex D for detection of salmonella in primary production samples  Revision work was transferred to CEN/TC 275/WG 6, Microbiological Contaminants  EC agreed to finance validation study

ISO/CEN Cooperative Agreements

 Under ISO/CEN cooperative agreements  Develop common standards in the field of food microbiology  Both standardization committees ISO/TC 34/SC 9 and CEN/TC 275/WG 6 have agreed to develop common standards in the field of food microbiology  One of the bodies leads the work for each standard  Official voting for any draft standard is organized through both standardization committees  CENWGs open to experts outside of Europe  Up to four non-EU experts allowed
