AOAC INTERNATIONAL

Founded in 1884 with our beginnings in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA), AOAC INTERNATIONAL is an independent, non profit membership association of analytical science professionals in government, industry, and academia worldwide. Our mission is to advance food safety and product integrity through standards, validated test methods, and laboratory quality programs. We publish outcomes, including Official Methods of Analysis SM , in the Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL and provide laboratory proficiency testing programs. AOAC also facilitates collaboration and training of scientists and other stakeholders to address challenges with sustainable analytical solutions.

 AOAC’s premier program for developing food and ag testing analytical science methods that are recognized and legally defensible worldwide  Evaluates methods across AOAC’s integrated science programs for adoption as First Action or Final Action Official Methods  Methods reviewed by expert review panels of vetted volunteer subject matter experts from around the world  Methods may be submitted in response to an active Call for Methods or by an individually prompted sole source  Approved methods are published in the Official Methods of Analysis � compendium  Offers Consulting Service in which validation study protocols are developed and approved; methods may be formatted; and manuscripts drafted or formatted.
