AOAC BOD June 2018 Pre-Meeting Materials

Motion: Sullivan/Johnson moved/seconded approval of the Best Manuscript to Authors Award along with the proposed criteria and procedures as presented. Vote: PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 5 International Relationships 5.1 CIFST Meeting DeAnn Benesh reported that since the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) in April 2017, the two organizations have slowly worked to identify common goals or objectives. AOAC Board members Benesh, Johnson, Sullivan, Godefroy and Schmitz, are all scheduled to participate in CIFST meetings in Beijing during the week of April 16, 2018. 5.2 Codex Participation Darryl Sullivan briefed the Board on AOAC’s engagement with the WHO/FAO Codex Alimentarius Commission. Sullivan has led an AOAC delegation to both the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) and Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and DeAnn Benesh announced that a cooperation agreement had been signed on February 5, 2018, between AOAC and the Food Safety and Standards Commission of India (FSSAI). The FSSAI is interested in adopting AOAC methods as part of a focus on national capacity-building. 6 AOAC Programs and Business Development Dashboards* Jonathan Goodwin led a presentation along with senior staff, which provided updates on the upcoming Midyear Meeting stakeholder panel meetings, as well as growth and opportunities from each of the following departments: Publications, Proficiency Testing, the Research Institute, Meetings, and other business development outreach. Next Meetings 7.1 AOAC Section Meetings A schedule of upcoming AOAC Section Meetings was provided to Board members and guests. 7.2 AOAC Annual Meeting The AOAC Annual Meeting will be held August 26-29, 2018 in Toronto, Canada. Registration and other information is posted on the AOAC website. 7.3 Board Meeting The next AOAC Board Meeting is scheduled for June 12-13, 2018 at AOAC headquarters in Rockville, MD, USA. 7 Sampling (CCMAS) for several years. 5.3 FSSAI Cooperation Agreement
