Advisory Panel Meeting (in person meetings or teleconferences) – Set priorities and obtain more specifics on analytical challenges & needs – Recommend working group chair & key members and experts – Progress updates and any guidance 3. Nontargeted and Targeted Working Groups - Launch & Meetings – Prepare WG chair for launch at an AOAC stakeholder meeting (in person every 6 months) – Stakeholders endorse a final fitness for purpose statement for nontargeted analysis – Stakeholders endorse a final fitness for purpose statement for targeted analysis – Web/teleconferences and/or in person meetings to work on drafting SMPRs (3+ meetings) – Draft FFA SMPR completed 4. Draft SMPRs Posted for Public Comment (30 days minimum) – Chairs to reconcile comments 5. Working Group SMPR Presentation (Stakeholder Panel Meeting – in person every 6 months) – WG chair presents the draft SMPR and reconciled comments – Stakeholders deliberate and reach consensus on final version of SMPR You are Here

6. Approved SMPR

(6) Publicationof StandardMethod Performance Requirements

– Published in Official Methods of Analysis and on AOAC website – Call for Methods issued based on published SMPR – Call for Experts issued to form Expert Review Panel (ERP) to review methods 7. Review of Submitted Methods – Vetted ERP members approved, appointed, and oriented – ERP chair does preliminary review of methods and assign ERP members to methods – ERP conducts electronic review of method against SMPR – ERP meets in person to review of methods and render a decision on adopt methods 8. Adopted Methods – Method is codified and published in the Official Methods of Analysis as First Action status – Method manuscript is published in the Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL – Method is tracked for two years (collect feedback, reproducibility, etc.…) – ERP review First Action methods and render a recommendation on method status changes (e.g., Final Action, repeal, or continuance of First Action)
