Estimation Challenges

• If variance of the method is constant at all concentrations, the estimation of LOD is simple, especially if the assumption of normality holds. • If variance increases with concentration, the estimation is more challenging. • To estimate LOD accurately, you need to know the “precision profile” up to the LOD point.
