FASTER Act

Food Allergen Safety Treatment Education and Research Act (FASTER Act)

FASTER Act was signed into law 2021, declaring sesame as the 9th major food allergen recognized by the United States effective January 1, 2023

All FDA requirements applicable to major food allergens, including labeling and manufacturing requirements, apply to sesame as of January 1, 2023

All the provisions in the FD&C Act that apply to the previous list of major food allergens also applies to sesame.
