MLT included a sample at the low end of the SMPR analytical range.

SMPR: 0.03-5.0 g/100g RTF MLT samples: 0.031-2.67 g/100g RTF LOQ: MLT included a sample at the LOQ. SMPR: 0.03 g/100g RTF MLT sample: 0.031 g/100g RTF Accuracy/Recovery : NAP to MLT data Precision (RSD r ):

MLT RSDr met the SMPR for 7 of the 8 products tested after the removal of 3 outliers (1- SRM 1869, 2- Infant Low-level FOS/GOS powder). RSDr for the adult nutritional RTF (7.7%) was slightly above the SMPR RSDr (no outliers removed).

SMPR: < 6% MLT: range - 2.3 to 7.7%, mean - 4.3% Reproducibility (RSD R ) :

MLT RSDR met the SMPR for 5 of the 8 matrices analyzed after the removal of 3 outliers (1- SRM 1869, 2- Infant Low-level FOS/GOS powder). The RSDR’s for the adult nutritional RTF (13%), infant formula RTF (15%), and infant milk powder (15%), were slightly above the SMPR RSDR (no outliers removed).

SMPR: < 12% MLT: range – 5.9 to 15%, mean – 11.3%

• System suitability: No system suitability parameters listed in method. Recommendation: AOAC 2016.14 met most of the fructan SMPR’s MLT results that did not meet the fructan SMPR’s were only slightly higher than the requirements.

I recommend moving this method to final action.
