To whom it may concern:

It is a pleasure to write a recommendation letter for Pr. Nour-Eddine ES-SAFI and support his nomination as a member of the AOAC Official Methods Board.

Pr ES-SAFI spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher in our laboratory and acquired good expertise on phenolic compounds and analytical methods. He has been appointed Professor at Ecole Ecole Normale Supérieure, Mohammed V University of Rabat, Marocco in 2001. He has then been head of the Chemistry department of Ecole Normale Supérieure, Rabat, Marocco from 2011 to 2014, and since 2014, Deputy director of the same institution. He is also Editor in Chief of Green and Sustainable Chemistry journal, Regional Editor of the American Journal of Food Technology and Member of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals. Pr ES-Safi has been a member of the Expert Review Panel for the AOAC Stakeholder Panels on Strategic Food Analytical Methods (Flavanols, St. John's Wort, Chondroitin, Kratom, Ashwagandha, Folin C, …) and on Dietary Supplements. He has been involved in the definition of Standard Method Performance Requirements for identification and quantification of the constituents of several plant extracts (Aloe Vera, ginger…)

I thus strongly support Pr ES-SAFI’s nomination as a member of the AOAC Official Methods Board.
