I met Mr Nour-Eddine Es-Safi for the first time when he came in my lab as invited visiting senior researcher in 2004. He spent about 2 years in my research team working on different topics dealing with the characterization, the study of the chemical reactivity, the synthesis and the study of the biological activities of several types of secondary metabolites, mainly polyphenols but including also irridoids, polysaccharides and so on… This period spent working with him was particularly rich in scientific results and convinced me of the wide range of skills of Mr Nour-Eddine Es-Safi in the field of analytical methods, including separation and spectroscopic methods. Combined with an in-depth knowledge of the state of the art and an enormous scientific curiosity, this expertise allowed me to highly recommend him for becoming member of the AOAC official methods board.
