II. The following change is requested during evaluation by the ERP for final action status:

After several incidents of very low target cell density enrichments being incorrectly called negative by the software, a change will be made in the BAX® software algorithm for this test kit to correct these erroneous calls. As a result of this change, two of 1938well calls associated with AOAC validation studies (both from the pre-collaborative study, one from the 25 g ground beef matrix and one from the 25 g ground turkey matrix) changed from correct negative calls to incorrect positive calls. The two amplification plots shown in Figures 3 and 4 are the PCR results from the samples for which algorithm calls changed with the new algorithm. Corrected statistical tables are presented for the two matrices in question. Tables 1 and 2 and 5 and 6 show the original data, while Tables 3 and 4 and 7 and 8 show the data when the results are analyzed with the new BAX® RT Salmonella algorithm. In both cases, the
