The repeatability RSD (RSD r ) for the samples were calculated by the following formulas: = ̅ ∗ 100 = � ∑ ( − ̅ ) 2 =1 − 1 Where:  = average of all fluoride results SD r = pooled standard deviation of all results

The intermediate precision RSD (RSD ip ) is calculated as shown: = ̅ ∗ 100 Where: STDEV = standard deviation of all results

Two matrices from the SPIFAN II test kit, RM8260 and Infant Formula C (or F), and the blank samples were found to be below the LOD of 0.02 ppm. The RSD r for the three samples above the LOD ranged from 0.7% to 4.3%, satisfying the requirements of this SMPR ( ≤ 8%). All results are found in Table I . Since the water blank was below the LOD, it was not subtracted from any of the other results.
