could be observed. The 95% uncertainty of NIST SRM 1869 is larger than the uncertainty of SRM 1849a indicating already the complex matrix of SRM 1869. If the result for SRM 1869 of this SLV is compared to the multi lab study of AOAC 2018.06 5 (table 4, interlaboratory result: 34,0 mg/100 g) it is in good agreement. The compared results also confirms that total taurine is determined with this described method in infant formula and adult/pediatric nutritionals. Results are summarized in table 13. All experimental data of the accuracy determination can be found in appendix D1.

Next to accuracy determination based on references value the accuracy was also assessed by spike recovery experiments. The spike recovery experiments were performed on the following matrices: Adult nutritional, infant formula and infant/adult formula. Spiking experiments were performed in triplicate at three different taurine levels in infant formula and adult/pediatric nutritional. The spike levels were 5 mg/100 g (Low), 50 mg/100 g (Medium) and 100 mg/100 g (High). Every spike level resulted in 27 spike recovery results. The summary of the spiking experiments can be found in table 14. All recoveries were within the set range of the SMPR thus meets all requirements. Experimental data on spiking experiments can be found in appendix D2.
