AOAC SPIFAN Nutrients ERP Review (March 14, 2019)

2016.13 (SEPTEMBER 2017) CAROT-02 VALIDATION REPORT FOR ERP USE ONLY DO NOT DISTRIBUTE

Accuracy

Although SRM 1869 will be a reference material for carotenoids in infant formula and adult nutritionals, its values have not yet been certified by NIST. Accuracy was assessed by spike and recovery of all- trans lutein, β-carotene, and lycopene in various matrices. Spiked and unspiked samples were measured in triplicate. The SMPRs call for 90-110% recovery from spiked samples, and all data meet this requirement.
