X In China, ascorbyl palmitate is also a source of vitamin C legal compounds. Not included in methods assessed. China will develop a standard for the determination of ascorbyl palmitate in foods. Considerations for future harmonization of methods X The guidance of GB 5413.18-2010 standard on vitamin C for operation steps is not detailed enough. X Vitamin C points to be considered by AOAC/GB vitamin C working group.

Current assessment X Fatty acids in food products can be analyzed by many different methods using various analytical steps including or excluding a preliminary fat extraction. X Most of these methods have been developed a long time ago, updated regularly and harmonized, but often have to much freedom/lack of guidance. X The quantification approach (Internal or external standard, normalization) seems the most important cause for potential difference in results. X The relative toxicity of reagents used and time to result are often not considered in the choice of the method.
