General Analytical Need • Require the ability to determine both free and total (post-hydrolysis) proteinogenic D -amino acids, as well as taurine (free) in infant formulas and other nutritional products. – It is not necessary to differentiate Asn/Asp and Gln/Glu as part of total amino acids (post-hydrolysis). – Asn and Gln should be part of a free amino acid determination. – Taurine, which is not a protein component, may be captured by more than one method.
