Summary:

Enzytec Liquid Ethanol is an enzymatic test kit (ready to use) for the determination of ethanol in kombucha, fruit juices, vegetable juices and alcohol free beer. The quantification is based on catalytic activity of alcohol dehydrogenase which oxidises ethanol to acetaldehyde and co-enzyme NAD reduced to NADH which is measured at 340 nm using a spectrophotometer within 20 minutes.

Yes, the method is suitable for the "determination of low levels of ethanol as expressed as alcohol by volume (ABV) in kombucha.

The method meets AOAC SMPR 2016.001. The method is a popular kit based technique an d fit for routine quality assurance testing.

The definitions used in the are being applied appropriately applied in the method except the unit of measurement. The SMPR specifies %ABV whereas the units used in the document are mg/l or g/l. However the units can be readily converted to %ABV.
