Regulatory Guidance / Issues • Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004. – Labeling requires the word “Contains” followed by the name of the major food allergen – for example, “Contains milk, wheat” – or a parenthetical statement in the list of ingredients – for example, “albumin (egg)” • Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 – on the provision of food information to consumers entered into application on 13 December 2014 . The obligation to provide nutrition information will apply from 13 December 2016 .
