Statement of Expertise: I have been an active volunteer for AOAC standards setting activities in SPDS and SPSFAM for several years; I have served on ten working groups and was chair for one and have served on sixteen ERP’s and was chair for 9 of those. I am currently Chief Science Officer for the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), and previously served as Laboratory Director for Alkemist Labs, an ISO 17025 accredited natural product testing lab specializing in botanicals. I took a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy and was awarded a NIH Fellowship for training at the UIC/NIH Center for Botanical Dietary Supplements. I am currently active in standards setting activities with AOAC, am a member of the United States Pharmacoepia’s Medical Cannabis Expert Panel and serve on the Editorial Board of the Journal of AOAC International, as well as the Advisory Boards of the American Botanical Council and the American Herbal Pharmacoepia.
