Modification to PTM Certifications/Method Claims • Three levels of modifications for PTMs – Level 1 = only internal review and decision required

– Level 2 = only method developer data with method volunteer  review required

– Level 3 = method developer study and independent laboratory  study with peer review 

• Level 1 and Level 2 modifications can be submitted as  part of the PTM Annual Certification Renewal process • Modification application must be submitted

• Modifications are determined on an individual basis
