Current Analytical Techniques For past years, many analytical techniques have  been used in tea components analysis including  1. Chromatographic methods‐HPLC‐UV, HPLC‐MS,  GC, GC MS and HPTLC 2. Spectroscopic methods‐NMR and NIR.

Challenges 1. Multiple methods may needed because of the  analytes properties (e.g.Catechins and  theanine) ; 2. Special processing and extraction methods  may needed because the contents of analytes in the target products (from micro grams to  grams); 3. The availability of quantitative standards.
