Experience Current Position (2012 – present): Director of Scientific Affairs, Chemistry N.A. Mérieux NutriSciences -Technical and business oversight for chemistry testing in North America. -Project oversight of importing & developing of new analytical methods into North America laboratories. This involves orchestrating efforts by R&D, Operations, and Quality divisions to meet project goals and timelines. -Managed/assisted in development & importation of seventy-two (72) methods into North America laboratories. These methods are incorporated into routine operations with a majority under the company’s ISO/IEC 1725 scope of accreditation. Methods focused on food nutrients. -Manager of Nutritional Method Development. Oversight of new nutritional methods for use globally, and in support of AOACI SPIFAN, SPDS, and SPSFAM method assessments. -Technical resource for internal divisions; notably Laboratory Operations, Quality, Legal, Sales & Marketing. -Work alongside Sales representatives as technical resource for key account customers. 2007 - 2012 : Management and Analytical Issue Resolutions: Manager of Business Platform Support Team which integrates Analytical Services expertise on General Mills’ R&D teams. Technical Reviewer for Analytical Department method development and improvements (notably vitamins and fiber analyses). Technical resource to Operations Reliability Team, Method Development Team, and Standard Analytical Team. Quality Manager: Personally developed department’s ISO/IEC 17025-complient quality system, wrote or co-wrote all quality-related documents, performed all initial internal audits. Received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation in 2008 . Department’s Quality Manager (2007-2009). Currently Deputy Quality Manager. 2004-2007 : Method Development: Managed Method Development team in development of Vitamin D by UPLC-MS/MS method, Folates by UPLC-MS/MS, and improvement of Vitamin D by HPLC-UV method. Manager of Business Unit Team: Managed BU Team Other Roles: Technical Reviewer for method development and method improvements. 2002-2004 : Business Unit Representative for Yoplait & 8 th Continent divisions. Technical member on R&D project teams to assure proper quality measurements. Oversaw production plants’ Quality Assurance program with expansion of analyses performed. Led Analytical Department initiatives on method efficiency improvements for analysis of vitamins. 2001 – 2002 : General Mills: Principle Scientist / Manager: Managed microvitamins analysis area, Sample Handling Facilities, Laboratory Information Management Systems team, and new technologies research group.
