For the matrices that utilized spike recovery to demonstrate accuracy the results are summarized in Table 10 . The full data sets are located in Tables AI-2-1 to AI-2-75 in Appendix I . The spiking levels assessed in each matrix during the validation were generally 0.1 % and 1.5% if the analyte had an innate concentration below the target limit of quantitation (LOQ) of 0.1%. If the analyte was above 0.1% in a matrix, then the spiking level generally corresponded to the highest innate level (100% innate) and 50%more than the innate level (150% innate). These spiking levels are intended to mimic the expected concentration of individual sugar analytes typically found in the corresponding matrix. Total recovery was used to calculate the percent recovery for each analyte. There were a few individual results outside the AOAC 2018.001 SMPR [1] . These aberrant results are minimal and occur with sugar compounds that are not expected to be found in the particular matrix. For the deviations, the matrix peaks were outside the retention time windows of the analyte and therefore the matrix peaks would not have been erroneously been labelled as a compound of interest. Based on the overwhelming number of individual results within the AOAC 2018.001 SMPR [1] the accuracy of this method is deemed acceptable.
