 B 2  B 2 was isolated in 1932 from Brewer’s yeast. was originally known as vitamin G (and briefly  vitamin J)  The name Riboflavin is derived from Ribose the  sugar whose reduced form makes up part of its  structure.  Flavin is from the Latin  flavus meaning yellow.
