Current Official Testing Methods B 2  AOAC 970.65 (Food) and 985.31 (IF) fluorometric  detection, acid hydrolysis, , and an oxidation step  to remove potential interferences.  GB 5413.12, EN 14152 are HPLC methods with  fluorescence detection, acid hydrolysis is  combined with enzymatic treatment.  BIS 5399 combines the AOAC approach with the  classic microbiological methodology. 

Current Official Testing Methods B 3  AOAC 985.34 (Food) Microbiological, one of the  simpler and more reliable microbiological  methods.  EN 15652 An HPLC method using fluorescence  detection, Niacin is derivatized using UV radiation.  GB 5413.15 HPLC with UV detection and  microbiological method option.  BIS 5400 Classic photometric method and  microbiological method.
