• SMPR for Minerals & Trace Elements was adopted by SPIFAN with the following applicability: – Determination of minerals [Total calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and/or sodium (Na)] and trace elements [copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) and/or zinc (Zn)] in all , forms of infant, adult, and/or pediatric formula and/or milk and milk products (powders, ready‐to‐feed liquids, and liquid concentrates). – To remove and/or milk and milk products from the applicability statement to make the SMPR consistent with the other AOAC SPIFAN SMPRs based on SPIFAN’s scope.
Since AOAC Mid‐Year Meeting Call for Methods Submitted for ERP Review • Issued for Minerals & Trace Elements, Biotin, Vitamin K, Fructans, and GOS. • 2 carnitine/choline methods submitted with SLV data • Fol 20 resubmitted for ERP

– This method was not previewed by SPIFAN prior to the ERP decision; large stakeholder participation in Chicago at the ERP meeting. A method overview will be provided at ERP down selection discussion.
