Analyte Definition

Description of the analyte: Determination of chloride in all forms of infant, adult, and/or pediatric  formula (powders, ready‐to‐feed liquids, and liquid concentrates ).  • Rationale:  Choride is present in infant formula naturally but fortification may be ,  made using various salts, e.g. NaCl, KCl, MgCl 2, CaCl 2. • Implications:  Candidate methods must recover all forms of chloride ion.

Specific Performance Claims • Analytical range:  5 – 500 mg/100g reconsituted  product  • LOQ:   ≤ 5 mg/100g reconsituted product.
