DEFINITIONS OF ANALYTICAL TERMS Accuracy: The closeness of agreement between a test result or measurement result and a reference value. Notes: The term “accuracy,” when applied to a set of test results or measurement results, involves a combination of random components and a common systematic error or bias component. When applied to a test method, the term accuracy refers to a combination of trueness and precision.
