14.16 Membership Certificates Each Member receives a certificate recognizing him or her as a Member of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. Begun in 1993, by presentation of a certificate to each Member, the program is continued by providing certificates upon initial enrollment of an individual as a Member of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. 14.17 Special Recognition Awards These awards are given to recognize an extraordinary volunteer contribution to the Association, one in which the dedication and effort goes well beyond what is generally expected (November 1996). Any interested party may nominate an individual for the award. The nomination must be in writing, directed to the Board of Directors at the Association ’ s headquarters office, and detail what is considered extraordinary about the nominee ’ s contribution. The recipient will receive a plaque or other recognition, as appropriate (November 1996). Receipt of awards is publicized in the Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL , Inside Laboratory Management , an Annual Meeting awards booklet, and elsewhere, as appropriate (Tradition). B.
