Definition

• The term Milk Fat Globule Membrane (MFGM) refers to the trilayered lipid membrane and its associated proteins and carbohydrates that surround milk fat globules. • Alternatively, the term is used for IF ingredients e.g. “Vivinal ® MFGM”, which is then referring to an MFGM-rich protein fraction. • The exact definition of MFGM for the purpose of the SMPR needs to be decided in the working group.
