I. WELCOME & INTRODUCTION (Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 8:30AM–8:45AM) Orlandi (AOAC) will open the meeting, welcome attendees and lead introductions of the attendees. Orlandi will outline the purpose of the meeting. II. BRIEF BACKGROUND ON THE AOAC FOOD AUTHENTICITY PROGRAM (Deborah McKenzie/Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 8:45AM–9:00AM) McKenzie will provide a brief background on the history of AOAC Food Authenticity Program. She will also present the process for moving forward in the Food Authenticity Program. Orlandi will discuss new processes and the options for scope of work in FY 2020 and a prospective multi-year program. (Working Group Chairs) a. Targeted Analysis/Testing (Joe Boison, EJ Consultancy – 9:00AM–10:00AM) Boison will present the proposed Standard Method Performance Requirements (SMPR®) for Targeted Analysis/Testing for review by the stakeholders. b. Non-Targeted Analysis/Testing (John Szpylka, Consultant – 10:15AM–11:15AM) Szpylka will present the proposed Standard Method Performance Requirements (SMPR®) for Non-Targeted Analysis/Testing for review by the stakeholders. IV. DISCUSSION ON GUIDANCE FOR SAMPLING AND REFERENCE MATERIALS (Steven Gendel, USP – 11:15AM–11:35AM) Gendel will lead a discussion with the stakeholders along with provide information on guidance for sampling and appropriate reference materials. V. DISCUSSION ON GENOMIC APPLICATION TO VERIFY AUTHENTICITY (Jonathan Deeds/Jennifer Brzezinski, US FDA – 11:35AM–11:55AM) Deeds and Brzezinski will provide information on genomic application to verify authenticity.
