AOAC FOOD AUTHENTICITY/FRAUD PROGRAM

Joe Boison, Ph.D. Independent Consultant Chair, Targeted Testing Analysis Working Group

Dr. Boison retired in 2018 from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA as a Senior Research Scientist after 31 years of service and holds an Adjunct Professor Faculty position in the Chemistry Department at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2003, he was appointed a Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation. He was awarded the CFIA President’s National Award for Leadership Excellence in 2010, and in 2012 he was appointed a Fellow of the AOACI.

In 2015, Dr. Boison was awarded the 2015 Harvey W. Wiley Award, AOACI’s highest award for lifetime scientific achievement. Dr. Boison currently chairs the AOACI’s Food Fraud/Food Authenticity Targeted Testing Working Group Program, is the current chair of the Official Methods Board, and is the Section Editor for Food Chemical Contaminants and Drug Formulations for the Journal of AOAC International.
