Conclusion The new analytical range of the BIOFISH 300 SUL has been validated. The method limit of

quantification (LOQ) is 7 mg/kg, lower than the LOQ of the only official analytical method to date, the

optimized Monier-Willams method codified as OMA 990.28 (1). Indeed, the LOQ of the BIOFISH method

is lower than 10 mg/kg, which is established by the legislation as the limit for the presence of sulfites.

Above 10 mg/kg it is necessary to declare the presence of sulfites in the labelling of products. Thus, with

the BIOFISH 300 SUL users will have greater confidence in the results obtained around the 10 mg/kg

threshold.
